Baby Carriage Shower Food

baby.carriage.foodSpruce up the food table at your baby carriage shower by adding some special touches!  A great centerpiece option is this watermelon boat shaped like a baby carriage.  While it looks pretty difficult to create, you can follow the step-by-step instructions found at creative-baby-shower-ideas.com and you may be surprised at how simple it really is!  Surround the melon with miniature carriage cakes made by setting a 1/2 cupcake on top of a mini loaf cake and decorating with frosting.

For snacking, your guests may enjoy nuts or mints tucked inside a stroller-shaped favor box.  You can also fill a bowl with Hershey's kisses that have a personalized carriage-themed sticker on the bottom.  To drink, let guests choose from coffee, tea or cappuccino, individually packaged with carriage-themed labels that display the mother-to-be's shower information.

Finger sandwiches can be theme-appropriate when the bread is cut with a baby carriage cookie cutter.  The cookie cutter can also be used for jello shapes, specialty cheese slices, and of course - cookies!  All of the food doesn't have to relate to your theme, some popular baby shower dishes include chicken salad, meatballs and vegetable trays.

You may choose to serve alcohol at your shower, but be sure to have something that the mother-to-be can enjoy!  A very simple punch recipe includes equal parts of Hawaiian Punch and Ginger Ale.  Find a number of tasty punch recipes here.

  • I think it will be a cool idea to have let's say a blue Hawaiian punch if it's going to be a boy and a pink cranberry or pomegranate punch if it's going to be a girl. I love serving punch drinks, too, whenever I'm throwing party at my place. I just try to spike it a bit (okay, sometimes a lot!) depending on who my guests are. ;)
